Sickle Cell Association—West Alabama (SCA-WA) is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) education and social service organization in Northport, Alabama.
Founded in 1985, SCA-WA provides comprehensive education and awareness services through diagnostic testing, evaluation, counseling and supportive services to individuals and families at risk for Sickle Cell Disease.
Our Mission
Mission Statement: To provide compassionate support and services that improve the quality of life for people impacted by Sickle cell disease. To bring awareness about sickle cell trait through education and genetic counseling to encourage the general population to make informed decisions for future family planning and health status.

SCA-WA is designated as Region II within the Alabama Department of Public Health, which comprises our service areas of Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Winston counties.
